BBC star Gary Lineker flaunts his £1.8m lifestyle

WHILE laughing off his gargantuan £1.8m BBC salary amid fury from licence fee payers – this is how Gary Lineker spends your money.

Boastful snaps show Lineker posing on rooftop pool at a £1,000-a-night hotel, hanging out in millionaires’ playground The Hamptons and drinking £370 bottles of fine wine.

Lineker travelled to Cape Town in march 2016 boasting: “Rehearsals for match of the day is going well”

The jet-setting Match of the Day presenter isn’t shy about showing people how he spends his money and the life of luxury he enjoys.

The former England star has been quick to mock concerns over his salary, revealed earlier this week as the BBC published the earnings of its highest-paid stars.

Lineker was second on the list – his pay packet the equivalent of 12,500 licence fees or the salaries of 68 NHS nurses.

But the 56-year-old’s response to the revelations was to tweet: “This whole BBC salary exposure is an absolute outrage… I mean, how can Chris Evans be on more than me?”

Lineker has been lapping up the sunshine this summer, posting pictures from the swanky rooftop pool of the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverley Hills, where suites cost between £1,000 and £2,600 a night.

Other Instagram snaps have showed him holidaying in The Hamptons, a coastal Millionaires’ row famed for attracting New York’s wealthiest residents.

The former England striker has also enjoyed breaks in Malibu, Cape Town, Barcelona, LA and the south of France in the last 18 months.

A rough calculation suggests Lineker pocketed around £18,000-an-hour for his screen time on the BBC last year.
