Everton join race for defender Jan Bamert and goalkeeper Eloy Room even though Ronald Koeman has already signed 11 players
EVERTON have joined the race for defender Jan Bamert and goalkeeper Eloy Room.
The Toffees have already made some exciting and big money signings so far this summer but it looks like they could still be looking to add the current squad.
Defender Jan Bamert is just 19-years-old and plays for Grasshopper Club Zurich.
Bamert comes highly rated and made his senior debut at aged 17.
He has already caught the eye of European clubs across the world including Benfica, Torino, Rennes and Villarreal.
The Swiss Under-19 international can also play as a right and left back with his primary position being central defender, he is reported to cost round £1.6million.
Everton are also chasing Vitesse goalkeeper Eloy Room to play backup to Jordan Pickford.
The 28-year-old is a Curacaoan shot stopper who plays for Dutch club Vitesse in the Eredivisie.
Room’s contract in Arnhem ends in June 2018 and with current interest from Everton he is expected to leave this summer.
There is also a lot of interest in him. Room knows how highly I think of him. But this is obviously his own choice.’
Room started as part of Vitesse’s youth set up, he has then grown to make 155 appearances for the Vitas. And currently plays for Curacao at an international level.
And with Room’s fellow Curacao teammate Cuco Martina already joining Everton this summer on a free transfer, he might be the one to persuade him with a move to Goodison Park.
