AN alleged Peeping Tom has been arrested on suspicion of using a Blackburn Rovers security camera to spy on a girl of 12 in her bedroom.
Her dad spotted the camera on a 30ft pole pointing at her window in their house near the stadium.
Police said a man of 54, believed to work in security, has been arrested on suspicion of voyeurism.
The girl is now so traumatised that she now hides in a corner so she cannot be seen.
Her dad raised the alarm after he realised the camera, on a 30ft pole, had been positioned so it pointed directly at her window in their house near the stadium.
Police later told him a security man had been arrested.
But the dad yesterday said his daughter was “deeply shaken” to discover a Peeping Tom had allegedly been spying on her.
He said: “It has made us all feel really uncomfortable in our own home.
“My daughter was sat in the corner the other night and when I asked what she was doing she said it was so ‘He’ couldn’t see her.
“She is now talking about needing to move house.
“She cannot relax in her own home.
“This is so unfair — she’s a lovely girl.”
The dad, a Rovers supporter, added: “Me and my family have been in this area all of our lives.
“The idea we could be forced out because of this is unbelievable.
“It’s my club and you associate football with enjoyment and entertainment, not this kind of thing.
“I am angry and devastated but above all justice must be done.”
The dad said he suddenly spotted the camera’s unusual positioning while drawing the curtains.
He added: “I thought it was weird.
“A few days later I checked and it was in the same position. “It really worried me.
“My youngest daughter is only 12 and my eldest is 14.”
