LEROY SANE has revealed he was forced to have a nose job as he struggled to breathe playing for Manchester City last term.
The German winger, 21, had to skip the Confederations Cup to correct the problem.
He told ESPN FC: “I had to have surgery on my nose. I couldn’t really breathe through it.
“I was working out when I could do it and I spoke with the national coach and also Pep Guardiola.
“It was a problem. Sometimes I would feel it during the games, it was really hard to breathe for me, but now it’s fine.”
Now Sane is hoping City’s forward line of Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and himself can be as good as Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
He said: “We have great striker and midfielders, that’s true. Of course, up front we want to have a good season again and hopefully we can score many goals.
“We are all young and, when you are the same age together, you have the same interests.
“Messi, Suarez and Neymar are three very good players, they are three of the best strikers in the world. We will try our best to be good and move on to that level.
“Gabriel, of course, is a special player but he is also very young. When he came over from Brazil, he was exciting on the pitch and really pleased to play for Manchester City and everyone could see it. He is a very special player for us.”
Sane is targeting a last four spot in this year’s Champions League.
